Busines…your boy’s back on BSN with another joint on Mike Tyson. Enjoy.
If I didn’t tell you, I’m coming live and direct from London until Tuesday. This has been something….
So, I’m here for some work on a documentary on Michael Jackson. A few years ago, I wrote a piece on Mike for salon.com that some wonderful people came across in the UK. They wanted to speak with me on camera about Mike, so I flew to New York to do that (interestingly, they picked the day they did for me in New York because James Brown cancelled). Well, the joint was set to hit the air…but that day happened to coincide with the raid on Neverland, so the doc was shelved. I flew out last February to put some updated stuff down on camera, and now I’m here since the verdict is done. The folks behind it are good people, and they always treat me well, so this is as flattering as it is enjoyable. The interview itself went really well, also. If you’re in the UK, look out for “The Michael Jackson Story” from Iambic Productions. There’s a strong possibility of a US release, also, so keep an eye out if you’re in the colonies. Further, if you’re in NC, I may have a viewing party at the legendarily palatial Bomaniland estate to watch this. Is that self-indulgence? Yes. I’ll have drinks, though. Even the biggest hater ain’t turnin down free oil.
Small problem–the people at the hotel I’m staying in lied to them. They said they had internet access. They have a fuckin pay station in the lobby that’s made for children. Imagine trying to eat from your dinner table standing up and you’ll know what it was like for me to try to update the bidness blog yesterday. And, teh shift key didn’t work, so I had to do the whole thing in lowercase. To top that off, it was like kicking down a door trying to press the buttons on the keyboard. But, today, I’m in the computer lab at American Intercontinental University (thanks Corren!), so I can use the full gamut of my typing skills.
And much to everyone’s surprise in London, it rained. Whodathunk it?
The first 48 hours here have been interesting. For one, it’s easy to see now how easily folks can pick Americans out. It’s not tough, and it’s hard to explain in some ways. It’s not hard, though, to pick out black American males. They’re the ones not wearing pants so tight that you can see what brand of drawers the dude is wearing.
Tomorrow, I start really conquering the city. I was doing work today, but I plan to hit some museums, take some pictures, and all that fun stuff. I also might be able to sneak a trip to Amsterdam in. This is bout to be some good livin, as you can see.

Pictures coming soon. I actually may have to wait until I get back because this computer I’m usins is requiring me to do all my html tagging, and that can be tough when uploading photos.
