Favorite Eddie Murphy Character (Clarence the Barber, with honorable mention to Jackson Heights’ own Mr. Randy Watson).

Clarence the Barber wins hands down. Favorite quotes (today at least considering that I think something different is funny everytime I watch this movie): "Hey, it's Kunta Kente!!!" *hysterical laughter and over the top gyrations follow* Lisa McDowell's little sister, Patrice, is BY FAR my favorite character! Favorite scenes are all the joints from the Barber Shop. That damn lion's head on James Earl Jones is the most ridiculous outfit ... yet on some NEXT LEVEL pimp stuff. Can you imagine a dude being like, "Nah, nigga! This is LION!" I would argue that if you average it out, I've seen the movie once every three months ever since I've been breathing.

In college, an umbrella group for all the organizations for people of color puts on an annual cultural show. The Black Student Movement did a tribute to blacks in film. My LB in full Oha costume sang She's Your Queen to Be. EVERY black person in that joing sang along! It was one of those classic moments in college that you remember for ever. When I was little I just thought a fat black man singing that high was funny. But when I learned the LYRICS I almost died! LOL. I read the article and unfortunately for me I am smack dab in the middle of Pac-10 country. That is all that is on. Being a Georgetown fan (and with games coming on at 4pm PST) I don't get to see alot of them unless I use my DVR to record them. I think the team to watch out for in the Pac-10 is Arizona. Budinger is no joke and he is a freshman.

Favorite Character: Same as you Bo in the same order Favorite Quote: The whole Joe Louis' age argument is one big quote to meet. I say the whole thing and do the voices at the drop of a hat Favorite Non-Eddie Character: Two many to count but just to be different i'll say the twins in the nightclub: "My name is Peaches, and I'm the best. All the djs want to feel my breasts." with the other twin beatboxing in the background. Favorite Scene (Samuel L.’s ill-fated robbery attempt): this was why voicemail message in college for two months with eddie's part edited out starting from "Who the fuck is this asshole?" to "Fuck you" pauses where eddie spoke gave enough time for caller to respond before beep right after fuck you. Evan, the "Matin Luther the King" line still cracks me up, as well as "Joe Louis was 62 years old when he fought Rocky Marciano." I've seen the movie too many times to count.

Fav eddie character...you know I gotta be partial to Clarence the barber...but the jewish guy in the barbership is a close second. Fav non-eddie character...Randy Watson...no question Fav quote "tall black mutha fucka" after the chicken bone in the collection plate incident. Favorite scene...whew that's tough..."She's your queeeeeen to beeee" The entire song...actually that's a tie for greatest line as well. Most rediculous outfit...the one the obese woman was wearing who introduced the "queen to be". Seen CTA at least 100 times...own it on DVD and VHS! I'm a fan.

And I don't care that Eriq La Salle went on to be more famous on ER; he'll always be Darryl Jenks to me. Moreover, you gotta love the scene when the Jenks family leave Soul Glo jheri curl stains on the couch. I'm gonna go watch that movie right now for at least 150th time. Clas-sic.

An underrated classic from Mr. Clarence was when he said he was going to the Miss Black Awareness pageant, where he told Akeem there would be, "good, clean girls." I wonder if Obama was there, too. Oh, and I contend the most underrated part of that movie is, "get your royal engagement T-shirts!" Not to get all essentialist on you, but name a single significant event in the modern history of negritude that didn't have somebody slangin' shirts? And if it's a bougie event, African masks for the low low (got four up at my house from Morehouse's '05 Homecoming).

OK... What is up with everyone here? No mention of "The Royal Penis is clean" scene? Another favorite part was when Eriq LaSalle's character gives the camera his own "Eddie Murphy" look when Patrice comes to get him out of his wet clothes! I guess my mind is in the gutter.
