Damn right. It’s 1am, and I have to leave for the airport in less than five hours. Big meeting tomorrow. Gotta put on a suit for it. Going to talk about the kind of gig I dream of.
And I’m awake.
Not quite sure why, but I’m awake. I should be asleep. The suit’s pressed. I don’t have to do much packing since the trip is only for one day. I’m getting to meet people I’ve worked with for a while, and that’s always good, but this is a little spooky.
Here’s the thing, though–nothing makes me nervous. Been to a few dark places that make it difficult for me to sweat much. Put your best friend in the ground with your own hands, and I promise you’ll never worry about silly stuff.
But I’m awake.
And I don’t know why.
I just better not go to sleep for long. I’ll be past irate if I miss my flight. One day, I’ll have to tell you about the hell I had when I missed my flight back from London. Moral of the story–it can be hard to find a ride at 1am when you don’t have a cell phone.
Anyway, I’m awake.
(fast forward about twenty minutes)
Just took a shower. Life is better now. More news on this later.
Still a bit jittery, though.
